ATTENDANCE MATTERS FOR:
Cum Laude, Open Campus, Athletics, etc.
To report an absence, student leaving early (appointments, etc.) arriving late call:
(262) 789-6310 before 9:00 a.m.
(we understand that emergencies occur occasionally)
School Hours: 7:25 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.
If a student gets ill at school, they are to go to the Health Room (204). The Health Room Aide will contact a parent/guardian.
- Permit to Leave: If a child is leaving the building because he/she was called out by a parent/guardian ahead of time...parents/guardians do not need to come into the building for them. Students will meet you by the cafeteria (visitor’s/main entrance) parking lot. Avoid calling minutes before the departure time as this will delay getting your child out of class at the exact time you want (especially if it’s Phy. Ed. Class).
- Late Arrivals: When you drop your student off at school (visitor’s/main entrance) while school is in session, including passing time (after an appointment, or arriving late), you do not need to come in with them. Students will be instructed by the security person to go to class.
- Medical Excuse: If a note is provided by the doctor/dentist/orthodontist, etc., the absence will be exempt.* Students must give the note from the appointment to the security office or the main office.
- College Visit: Students visiting a prospective college should provide the main office with verification that he/she was at the visit (student name and date visiting required), i.e. a parking permit, brochure, email invitation, etc. from the college in order to be marked exempt.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Your student needs to be here at least half of the school-day to participate in any after-school/extra-curricular activity. If a student is coming in late – they need to be here by 11:15 a.m. If they leave early – it cannot be before 11:15 a.m. for participation.
*EXCUSED vs. EXEMPT: When a parent calls their child out of school the absence is EXCUSED. Excused absences DO count against a student for their Cum Laude, Open Campus, and Athletic participation. If a student brings a medical excuse from the doctor/dentist/orthodontist/medical professional, etc. this absence will be EXEMPT. Exempt absences DO NOT count against a student for Cum Laude, Open Campus or Athletics.
NOTE: School sponsored Field Trips, Testing and Funerals are automatically exempt.
Make sure your phone numbers in Infinite Campus are current in case of an emergency.
