In construction I and II, students are provided a broad overview of the Construction industry to help them better understand the opportunities available to them after high school as well as the education requirements needed to support their personal and career goals. They are afforded the opportunity to apply what they are learning on classroom as well as community projects.
Enrollment
Students register through Infinite Campus (or via Youth/Course Options if taking a college course). In the event a section of a class we offer is not offered at your home school, transportation will be provided. Please contact your counselor for information.
Industry Certifications
At the present time, there are no industry certifications, outside of those that can be earned through employment, included in this Program of Study.
Employment Opportunities
Students with an interest in applying what they are learning in school in a work environment will be connected to the SDNB Career and Service Learning Program to find an internship or youth apprenticeship that matches their interests. We have a variety of partners interested in providing our students with quality work based learning opportunities.
Industry Mentorship, Post-secondary Education
Students enrolled in this program will be provided with access to industry mentors from our local business partners. Students are engaged in projects that allow them to apply what they are learning as part of their coursework. This may include helping build sets for school productions, building structures to support community projects, etc.
Students will also be provided with opportunities to visit and/or consult with a number of different post-secondary education providers throughout the year to enrich what they are learning in class and inform their Academic and Career Plans.
