Our College and Career Readiness (CCR) Video Series was created as a way to share the district's philosophy and work behind our Vision of the Graduate, as well as our belief that college and career readiness is more than a test score. We realize the uniqueness of each individual student, and therefore strive to provide a rich offering of relevant experiences for students to engage in, reflect on and consider as they develop personal, academic, career and social goals for their future. These opportunities are only made possible through collaborations with a variety of community partners including families, post-secondary partners, public officials, businesses and organizations.
Realizing the Vision of the Graduate
The School District of New Berlin developed "The Vision of a College and Career Ready Graduate" to inform the collective efforts of parents, administrators, staff and the community at large who are committed to supporting students as they pursue their personal, academic, social and career goals. This video demonstrates the result of these efforts.
Creating Awareness at the Elementary Level
The School District of New Berlin is "All In" when it comes to a K12 approach to College and Career Readiness. At the elementary level, we focus on developing awareness within our students. We believe this lays the foundation for the future exploration and preparation they will be engaged in during their middle and high school years. While providing opportunities for our youngest students to discover who they are as learners, identify what they like and don't like, and gain confidence in their unique abilities, we also provide them with the tools and skill sets they will need to be successful at the secondary level and beyond.
