In the School District of New Berlin, we are committed to providing a wide variety of supports and services to help students aspire to and make progress toward the Vision of a College and Career Ready Graduate. This involves the development of a broad range of knowledge, skills and dispositions that will allow students to be informed consumers of their post-secondary education and training and also effectively navigate the worlds of higher education and employment at a time that is right for them.
To that end, the SDNB is using a number of research and/or best practice indicators that have been proven to lead to higher levels of post secondary success to track student progress, as well as the performance of the district as a whole. It is our shared objective to help students explore a wide variety of learning opportunities that support their personal, academic, social and career goals. This requires that we measure their progress in a manner that is as unique as they are.
Please review the resources on the right side of this page, some of which will be reviewed with students as part of Academic and Career Planning at the secondary level. Meeting College and Career Readiness benchmarks, or even being recognized at graduation as a Distinguished College and Career Ready Graduate, does not mean the work is done. It means students have experienced learning that is proven to increase the likelihood of post-secondary success.
These resources are new and we are interested in your feedback. If you have questions or concerns, please contact a member of your building administration. Questions may also be submitted to Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kellie Sanders at kellie.sanders@nbexcellence.org. These questions will be used to compile a list of Frequently Asked Questions to benefit our school community.
